1. Do you want an Island? I have seen kitchens with 2 or even three islands but in general the question is do you want an island? One key determininations of whether you will have an Island is whether or not you have enough room to include an island in your kitchen.
2. Do you want a peninsula? The difference between a kitchen island and peninsula is the fact that a peninsula is up against a wall. Sometimes you may have both a peninsula and an island.
3. Do you want seating on the peninsula or island? You need to detemine if you want seating on the Island or Peninsula and if so for how many people.

Trends are ever changing in Kitchen Designs. In the cities homeowners are usually looking for modern or contempory styling. Most city dwellers like Slab Style Doors or Shaker Style Doors. Another trend is either Stainless Steel Doors or Countertops, Glass Doors with Frosted Glass. In the suburbs the trend is more for traditional styling. Highlight the Important Parts

The first thing to do is decorate the important areas of the office like your desk, and book shelves. A few decorative bookends will add a lot of character to your office and they are also functional.

One of the issues when you begin the search for your perfect home is that you can become a little it overwhelms by the many choices you have at your disposal. Some people of course truly relish collecting some books and choosing from the many home designs that are available. What you need to do is to narrow down your search by just sitting back and and considering what type of home you would like to live in.

A good place to start before you overwhelmed with choice is to consult with your architect. And architects job is to not only design a home he also needs to identify his clients needs and try and create what they are looking for.

What a good architects will do is they will develop a program to try and get from you what you expect from your new home and help you to recognize from an his point of view what needs to be done but also to recognize what your personal needs are for your home. The kind of areas that he will look at our what your needs are for you home not just for today but in the future, so do you have children?, are you planning on having children?, would you need to accommodate aging parents?

These are just some of the questions others may include do you want a home office to possibly plan on living in the same home when you retire and these may be the type of questions that you are not sit right now but it's an architects job to try and accommodate these in the future and plan your home to suit your needs as I said not just for today but in the future.

As part of the program or project plan a good architect will also address you put it of course this should be accurate but you need to allow a little bit of leverage in case of cost overruns. Hopefully there will be no extra costs but it's better to be clear upfront that you are aware of these types of unexpected issues that may arise.

Natural wicker withstands the elements incredibly well, which makes it a perfect choice for any type of patio design. It typically doesn't mold like wood, and doesn't rust or discolor as metal does. Since it's tight and relatively non-porous, it is easy to clean with just a damn cloth or soft bristle brush.

Synthetic wicker furniture is similar to natural wicker in all these ways. It is manufactured from plastic, not cane, though, which gives it a few advantages over a natural wicker item. Unlike natural wood, plastic doesn't rot, rust of warp. Because of its even surface, synthetic wicker will also hold a dye more uniformly, and often exhibit a glossier finish.

An obvious benefit of synthetic wicker is its enhanced durability. Plastic is very rarely cracks, and is immune to splinters and swelling. The surface will remain smooth after exposure to even the most extreme elements.

Because it's synthetic, it's much easier to find, or special order, a matching set of various pieces. While you may need to search far and wide to find just the right combination of natural wicker pieces, synthetic wicker's manufacturing process makes it simple to expand your existing furniture set - synthetic or natural - with perfectly matching pieces.

A key benefit of going with synthetic wicker is the price. Natural wicker is expensive, and high quality pieces can be prohibitively pricey. The materials, craftsmanship and treatment of the cane, as well as the additional cost of purchasing a "natural" product, increases the price of natural wicker to a degree that puts it outside many budgets. Synthetic wicker, however, does not have much of this overhead. While it is still more expensive than many alternatives, it is considerably less expensive than its natural alternative.

The price may be lower than natural wicker, but synthetic wicker is still of a higher quality than typical, run of the mill plastic patio furniture. In every age, furniture is made for the same basic purposes. Tables, desks and workbenches provide space for work or dining. Cabinets, cases, and chests are built for storage. Beds, lounges, sofas, chairs and benches are made for resting. Today we have furniture for every imaginable situation, from a baby's high chair to a steel office desk. They ranges from soft, pillow-like upholstered sofas to sleek tables of metal and glass.

Furniture are built to make people's lives easier and more comfortable. The furniture industry divides them into various broad groups. One way of grouping furniture is according to where and how it is used. Furniture that is used at home makes up another large group. And also it can be classified by its style.

Case goods are pieces that provide interior storage, such as desks, drawers, cabinets, and bookshelves. This term is originally applied to wooden furniture but now includes furniture made from metal, plastic and other materials. Although the primary function of case goods is to organize various home items, these pieces of furniture are also installed inside homes as an added decor. It contributes greatly to the overall ambiance of the house.

Upholstered furniture is padded and covered with fabric, leather, or vinyl. It usually has four basic parts: the frame, the supporting foundation, the cushion or padding, and the outer covering. Fabrics range from basket weaves to plush velvets and corduroys.

Institutional furniture is designed and built for public buildings, hospitals, hotels, motels, nursing homes, and theaters. Such items look more basic, far from intrinsic designs seen at homes. These pieces of furniture look plainer yet clean. Examples are semi-reclining seats seen in movie theaters, reclining beds in hospitals, and beds in hotels and hospitals.

Meanwhile, business furniture includes desks, filing cabinets, storage units, and even to hold computers and other data-processing equipment. These are obviously seen inside buildings housing many offices, and in other business establishments like a restaurant, shopping mall or other stores. Some business furniture can be customized to bear the name of the company.

Home furniture is used for bedrooms, living rooms, and dining rooms. These pieces are smaller than business furniture, more for personal use only. Home furniture is probably the most varied set of furniture. The range of designs is endless to match specific houses.

Occasional furniture applies to a wide range of tables, cabinets, room dividers, shelving units, grandfather clocks, and other accessories. These are most often used during festivities, parties or other social events. Such tables and chairs are made of lightweight materials to be easily carried around.

Juvenile furniture includes all the baby items, such as cribs, and high chairs, as well as furniture designed and built in smaller sizes for children of various ages. These are commonly distinguished easily from the very bright colors, the animated designs and their smaller sizes compared to regular items.

Casual furniture is any other chairs, tables, and other pieces that can be used either indoors or outdoors, on patios and lawns. Most casual furniture are made of plastic (monoblocs) or wood. They weigh relatively lighter than others in comparison, and thus, are easier to move and carry around. These are also the pieces of furniture brought during outdoor trips.

Office furniture for a home office is a bit different from traditional business furniture. In a business office, you would probably not be able to choose your own furniture and have whatever the company chose, however, it should still present a professional and simple office space. In your own home office though, you will be free to be as creative as you want. As it is in your own home, the temptation is to be totally casual, but this should be avoided as you still need to maintain an air of professionalism for when the customers come to visit.

Office chairs are perhaps the first thing you want to choose because the chairs can literally set the whole ambience of the room. If you are likely to have visitors, it is important to provide them with comfortable chairs or small couches to sit on. Creating Attractive Wreaths

A lovely wreath on your door will tell visitors to your home something about you before they even step inside. Wreaths vary in many ways: the materials used, the shape chosen, the style emulated. To make a basic wreath, procure some silk flowers and a foam ring from a craft store or shopping center. Using some heavy-duty scissors, cut the stems of your flowers, leaving about an inch of stem below the flower. Insert the flowers one at a time into the foam ring. Strategically place them so that they are close enough to cover up the foam, but not so close that they look bunched or crushed. Your wreath will last a very long time if you use a hot glue gun to add small amounts of glue where the base of the flower touches the ring. Adding leaves or vines to your wreath works well for extra decoration or for covering up bare spots. You can choose to create wreaths using one kind of flower in many colors, or one color using many flowers-or a combination. Once the wreath is completed, hammer in a small nail to the top of the door and string up the wreath.

There is less dust with verticals, but since the bamboo is a smooth wood, even the horizontal slats do not attract as much dust as fabrics might do.

These window shades can be controlled with a cord or continuous chain control. They come with a matching top valance to cover any mechanicals. They are good also for some noise control, and privacy issues. When homes are set close to each other, as many are in new expensive neighborhoods, privacy becomes a concern. With their varied weaves and patterns, the bamboo shades can offer increased privacy but still allow light and a view as desired.

Being a wood product, bamboo is an insulator. When closed, the slats will deflect outdoor sunshine and its heat back to the outdoors. Similarly, they can help with retaining indoor heat in cold seasons. Both energy efficiency and eco friendliness are important in today's economy. Using a naturally occurring, easily renewable product is a better choice than going towards chemicals and products that cannot be easily broken down for reuse or recycling. These window shades offer that function.

Many designers prefer bamboo to other window shades materials.
