There are many reasons why you need to consider the installation of a good basement subfoor when constructing your building. Whether you are building a house or office building a good subfloor is needed to make your construction stronger and more pleasing to walk on.

The subfloor is needed to act as a base for the flooring material that is installed on it. For example, the floor tile or carpet that is used for the floor covering needs a good foundation for the covering material to be placed on. The subfloor provides this base and can also keep sound levels down and provide an insulation barrier to help keep room temperatures under control.

The floor covering that is use needs to have a protective material under it to prevent moisture from destroying the tile, carpet of whatever you choose as the floor covering. You may run across a basement floor that doesn't feel like concrete but is. You can build a wooden subfloor on this floor by laying 2x4's flat and form a surface for your subfloor. The 2x4s provide the base to nail or glue your subfloor material to. This is a very good way to construct a floor that is sturdy and durable to be the base for tile, carpeting or whatever you choose for your covering.
